one frame from single to double to standing sibling — top-tier quality, bought once

What it is — a full-size single-to-double
A full-size single-to-double modular stroller — reversible toddler seat (about 3 months to 50 lbs), 27.6 lbs, a 30-lb under-seat basket, FlexRide all-wheel suspension, never-flat tires, extendable UPF 50+ canopy, magnetic-buckle no-rethread harness, one-step self-standing fold, GREENGUARD Gold fabrics, 3-year warranty. In the box: frame, one toddler seat, seasonal seat liner, bug shield, rain shield, storage bag.
Claim vs. reality — “from birth”
“From birth” — a stroller that’s ready for a newborn
The catch on “from birth”: the included seat starts at about 3 months. The V3 no longer includes a bassinet like the V2 did — birth use needs the Bassinet V3 ($249.99–$279.99, or the $1,279.98 bassinet bundle), a Mesa/Aria car seat, or an insert, all sold separately.
Claim vs. reality — “carries three”
“Carries three” — one stroller that grows to three kids
The catch on “carries three”: two seated kids takes a RumbleSeat V3 (about $249.99–$297.99, rated to 40 lbs in the US, smaller and lower than the main seat) or a second seat plus adapters; the third “child” is an older kid standing on the sold-separately PiggyBack board. A realistic from-birth double setup lands around $1,350–$1,550.
Single vs. double, tested
BabyGearLab scores it 79/100 as a single (quality 9/10) but 68/100 as a double, calling the two-seat setup cramped, with maneuverability and transport scores dropping sharply; it weighs about 36.5 lbs with two seats.
Safety & the recall record
No CPSC recall for the Vista V3 (checked October 17, 2026) — UPPAbaby’s recalls cover a 2015 bumper bar, 2021 RumbleSeat adapters and the Ridge jogger, not this model. UPPAbaby markets the Bassinet V3 as an overnight sleep solution (flat, to 20 lbs, on its stand), but BabyGearLab’s bassinet testing flags its padded sides on breathability and advises against treating it as a crib substitute; the stroller seat itself is never a sleep space.
What owners say
Praise clusters on the smooth push, the huge basket, the magnetic buckle and an easier fold than the V2. Complaints: it is huge and heavy even in five-star reviews, accessories add up fast, and the second seat is small as toddlers grow.
The money math & FSA/HSA
$999.99 list for the single; it does discount — deal trackers have recorded $699.99–$736.97 — and resale stays strong.

Worth It If… a second child is genuinely in the near-term plan, you walk a lot, you’ll use the 30-lb basket daily, and you have the trunk and hallway space — bought once, it covers single, double and standing-sibling years at top-tier quality. Not worth it as a premium single (the Cruz V3 is the easier one-child buy), for small trunks or daily stair-lifting, if you need two equal roomy toddler seats, or if the budget only works by pretending the bassinet, second seat and adapters are included — on the V3, they are not.
