Worth It If…
$349.99 at Amazon

$349.99 at Amazon — tracked price for ASIN B0DDXCWMRK per RefreshBuy’s Amazon record (Oct 23–24, 2026; see Price note on conflicting records) for the kit titled “4K UHD Camera, 5″ 720p Display, 8X Zoom, Hybrid Wi-Fi and No Wi-Fi Connection, 24/7 Recording in app, Pan-Tilt, Portable Camera with Built-in Battery, ANR” (model T8354 / E8354121); eufy’s own list for the 1-camera kit is $259.99 and US retailers list it at $229.99 on sale — verify the camera count and price in the live offer before buying

Real 4K in the app and recordings, but the bedside parent unit is 720p, the Wi-Fi-off privacy switch is contested in owner reports and flips only on the camera, and Amazon price/config records conflict sharply.

The pitch

4K UHD camera, hybrid Wi-Fi / no-Wi-Fi, 330° pan / 60° tilt / 8× zoom, portable battery camera, no subscription

The catch

parent-unit display is 5″ 720p, Wi-Fi-off reports conflict, camera battery is ~9 hrs (~5.5 hrs with night vision), and Amazon price/config records conflict sharply

FSA/HSA

Not eligible — a video/audio monitor with no vital-sign tracking is not medical care

What it is

The eufy Baby Monitor E21 (Anker/eufy; model T8354, kit E8354121, UPC 194644298609), pinned here as the Amazon ASIN B0DDXCWMRK kit — one 4K camera plus a 5″ parent unit with charging base — eufy’s current hero baby monitor and the successor line to the discontinued SpaceView (Fathercraft: SpaceView manufacturer buy path is gone, PDPs 404). The camera records 4K UHD (3840×2160) with 330° pan, 60° tilt, 8× zoom and auto-focus, infrared night vision, two-way talk, active noise reduction (ANR, up to 20 dB per eufy), cry / loud-noise / room-temperature alerts, and 24/7 recording to a local microSD card (up to 128 GB, sold separately) with no monthly fee. The camera carries a built-in 5,000 mAh battery for portable/outage use. The system is hybrid: the parent unit connects directly without Wi-Fi, the eufy Baby app connects over Wi-Fi for remote viewing, access can be shared with up to 5 family members, up to 4 cameras can be paired with split-screen viewing, and claimed local range is 1,000 ft in an open environment (eufy launch spec). Encryption is RSA-1024 + AES-128 with a unique key per recording, per eufy. In the box per retailer/manual records: camera, monitor with charging stand/base, camera and monitor power cables, two 5V/2A adapters, mounting plate, cot/crib mount set and screw pack.

Claims vs. reality

  • “4K camera” — true for the camera and the app, not for the parent unit: every spec record agrees the camera is 4K UHD while the included display is a 5″ 720p screen (Amazon listing title itself, TechSith side-by-side, Mumsnet key specs: video 4K UHD 3840×2160, screen 5-inch HD 720p). The 4K detail — including the 8× zoom headroom and seeing chest rise and fall — is fully available in the app view and in recordings; on the bedside unit you are watching a downscaled 720p picture. That is still a clear picture, but a parent buying “4K” for the handheld screen is buying something the kit does not deliver there. One hands-on review put it plainly: the 720p display “doesn’t do the camera’s 4K capabilities justice.”
  • “Hybrid Wi-Fi / no-Wi-Fi — full privacy in one switch” — the design verifies, owner reports conflict: eufy’s own FAQ states the switch exactly: on, the camera connects to your router for app viewing; off, “the camera will only connect to the monitor.” A hands-on tester (TechRadar review carried by UrAllNews) found that held in testing — the app feed cut within ~2 seconds of switching off. Against that, the Amazon review file carried by ShopAbunda reports users finding that when you switch Wi-Fi off, it doesn’t actually disconnect, with eufy support said to be working on an update. Both records are stated here because neither can be dismissed: treat local-only mode as a feature to verify on your unit/firmware (flip the switch, confirm the app loses the feed), not as a guarantee taken from the box. Two further frictions verify across reviews: the switch is on the camera itself — it cannot be toggled from the parent unit — and eufy’s Smart Connect will deliberately route monitor-to-camera traffic through your home router when the direct signal weakens, which is a stability feature that privacy-first buyers should understand and configure deliberately.
  • “Portable camera, runs through outages” — verifies, with a short clock: eufy’s FAQ: about 9 hours on the 5,000 mAh camera battery, ~5.5 hours with night vision on — a hands-on test got just over 10 hours by day and just under/at ~5 at night, broadly confirming it. That covers an evening or an outage, not an unplugged overnight with night vision; for overnight use the camera belongs plugged in, with the battery as backup. RefreshBuy’s owner synthesis likewise flags limited unplugged battery life as the kit’s main catch.
  • “No subscription” — verifies: local microSD recording, app live view and alerts carry no monthly fee in any record checked; the cost add-ons are the microSD card itself (up to 128 GB, not included per retailer records), an add-on camera ($129.99 on eufy’s US store), and a second camera if you want the split-screen/twins setup — a ShopAbunda-carried Amazon review puts that 2-camera bundle at $359 on Amazon.
  • Successor, not the SpaceView: the discontinued SpaceView/SpaceView Pro (720p, non-Wi-Fi only) is a different product; the E21’s hybrid app access is precisely what it adds. Do not let a SpaceView review or price stand in for this check.

🛡 Safety & recalls

No CPSC or FDA recall for the eufy Baby Monitor E21 was found on Oct 23, 2026. This is a video/audio monitor — not a medical device: it does not monitor breathing, heart rate or oxygen, and it must never be relied on to prevent SIDS or replace checking on the baby. The governing hazards are the standard monitor ones: cord strangulation — keep every camera/monitor cord at least 3 feet from any part of the crib, never place the camera inside the crib or on the crib edge within reach, and use the included mounts/guards (CPSC/JPMA guidance for all corded monitors); disconnect silence — the Amazon review file carried by ShopAbunda reports the parent unit may not sound an active alarm when the camera disconnects or the monitor battery is dying, so a silent screen is not proof of a sleeping baby — check the connection indicator before sleep and keep the parent unit charged/on its base; firmware — update camera and parent unit through the eufy Baby app / monitor settings on setup (one hands-on unit hit a parent-unit restart loop after its first firmware update and needed Anker support’s recovery file — do the update before the first night you depend on it, not at bedtime); and privacy hygiene — verify the Wi-Fi-off behaviour on your firmware if local-only mode is why you bought it (see Claims), use a strong account password, and remove shared family access when caregivers change.

Real reviews

4.0/5 across 818 reviews on RefreshBuy’s Amazon record for ASIN B0DDXCWMRK (Oct 23, 2026), with 400+ bought in the last month and a RefreshBuy expert score of 7.5/10 — a notably cooler file than eufy’s own store pool (4.49 across 89 reviews). Mumsnet’s parent-tester review (two weeks, 9-month-old, home + travel) is the strongest hands-on praise: “the 4K picture was extremely clear,” pan/tilt and baby-focused zoom among the most-used features, parent unit preferred overnight with the app used elsewhere, dock and rechargeable camera praised for travel, built-in white noise and temperature alerts appreciated; its tester cons were a camera that sometimes needed manual adjustment and alerts that could be too sensitive. The wider complaint pattern, in order: (1) Wi-Fi behaviour — intermittent disconnects/dropouts (RefreshBuy) and the Wi-Fi-off-doesn’t-disconnect reports above; (2) no disconnect/low-battery alarm on the parent unit in the Amazon file; (3) battery life unplugged, especially with night vision; (4) launch firmware glitches, including the restart-loop report, with support responsive; (5) price — multiple reviews call it premium-tier. Praise repeats on picture quality day and night, ANR-clean audio, split-screen for two rooms/twins, crib mount included, critical-alert bypass of phone silent/DND in the Amazon file, and no subscription.

Price & FSA/HSA

Price note — records conflict, so this check pins the record, not a guess: RefreshBuy’s Amazon record for the pinned ASIN B0DDXCWMRK shows $349.99 current, Oct 24, 2026 (its JSON-LD labels that figure CAD, which is itself a caution), 4.0/5 across 818 reviews. Against it: eufy’s US store lists the same 1-camera kit at $259.99 (launch list was $249.99, Nov 2024), Abt and Nebraska Furniture Mart list $229.99 on sale (comp. $259.99), Best Buy records show $259.99 with a $179.99 figure appearing in its E21 listing record, Fathercraft’s ranking puts the E21 on Amazon at about $179.98, and a ShopAbunda-carried Amazon review puts the 2-camera bundle at $359 — suspiciously close to the $349.99 tracked figure, raising the real possibility that figure is a multi-camera configuration. Before buying, confirm on the live Amazon offer that you are buying the 1-camera kit and what it costs today; Amazon refused a live price read, so no single figure here is presented as the live price. Total cost: kit + a microSD card (up to 128 GB) for 24/7 recording; add-on camera $129.99 (eufy US) if a second room is coming; no subscription. FSA/HSA: not eligible — eufy’s own HSA-eligibility article states basic audio/video monitors usually do not qualify and only vital-sign monitors (breathing/heart rate, e.g. its Smart Sock) are typically eligible; Babylist’s guidance is the same (regular monitors not eligible, health-tracking monitors are). The E21 tracks no vitals, so no eligibility and no LMN pathway for ordinary use.

Worth It If… you want the sharpest app picture in this class, a real parent unit for overnight, and the option to run locally without Wi-Fi — and you accept the two asterisks: the parent unit you will actually watch at 3 a.m. is 720p, not 4K, and the Wi-Fi-off privacy switch is contested in owner reports and can only be flipped on the camera itself. At the tracked Amazon price the premium is hard to defend against eufy’s own $259.99 list; at the street prices retailers show ($179.98–$229.99 in independent records) the case gets much stronger.
