The hook-on chair that slides instead of screws — a Slide-to-Fit clamp and a 0.4-inch table floor undercutting the Inglesina Fast at $69.00, held to a conditional by a one-review file, wipe-only fabric and no compliance statement on the brand page.

The pitch

a take-everywhere seat that pops onto most tables in under 60 seconds — slide the clamp snug, twist once, done — then folds into its own built-in carry bag, with a snack pouch for wipes and essentials

The catch

the category rules the brand page barely prints — never glass, single-pedestal, card or leaf tables, never a chair underneath, never where feet can push off a leg or counter — plus wipe-only fabric and a 1-review owner file

FSA/HSA

not eligible — a high chair is a general household/feeding purchase, not a medical expense

What it is

A fabric-over-steel hook-on high chair — a legless seat supported solely by the table, so the tabletop is the feeding surface. It weighs 5.5 lb; the seat is 14.2″ wide, the chair 11.8″ high × 14.2″ wide × 15.7″ deep, with a 3-point safety buckle, 300D water-repellent fabric, and a 7.3″ × 10.6″ rear snack pouch. The arms fold in and it packs into a built-in storage bag/backpack. There is no tray, no height adjustment and no recline. In the box: the chair with its built-in bag. Warranty: 1 year limited (brand FAQ, “all other gear”), 30-day returns from Colugo.com.

Claims vs. reality

Slide-to-Fit is a real mechanism with brand-only numbers. Unfold the arms, press and hold the buttons, slide the bar snug under the table, twist once to lock — genuinely different from the Inglesina Fast’s twist-tight couplings, which testers call slow. No lab or hands-on source times the under-60-seconds setup or load-tests the slide clamp. The verifiable win is the range: 0.4–3.5″ thick, undercutting the Inglesina’s 0.8″ floor (both cap at 3.5″); the Chicco Caddy’s range is far narrower. “Fits infant to toddler” needs its own footnote: the category gate is a child who sits up unaided, up to 37 lb — the brand’s page states that correctly, but its launch release says 33 lb; the conflict is printed, not resolved. Cleaning is the weak side: the FAQ is wipe-only (warm washcloth, dish soap) with no removable machine-washable cover claimed, where the Inglesina’s lining machine-washes — and BabyGearLab still scores the Inglesina 4.0/10 for cleaning and the Caddy 3/10.

Safety & recalls

Hook-on chairs sit under a mandatory federal standard — 16 CFR 1233, which makes ASTM F1235 compulsory (drop, load, disengagement, bounce and pull/push testing; scope: 6 months–3 years, up to 37 lb, child sits unaided). Colugo’s product page makes no ASTM F1235, 16 CFR 1233 or JPMA statement for this chair, and no manual was found — an absence of a claim, not a finding of non-compliance, but the compliance statement is not verified. The standard warning language for this category, which Colugo’s FAQ only partly repeats (it excludes round and severely beveled tables): never on glass, loose, leaf, card or single-pedestal tables or over tablecloths; never with a chair underneath; never where the child can push off table legs or a counter below and dislodge the chair; always restrain the child, keep them in view, check table stability before and after seating, and stop if the child can move the chair’s arms on the tabletop. Falls from detachment are the category’s documented incident pattern. No CPSC recall naming Colugo or this chair was found Oct 27, 2026.

Real reviews — what owners say

The thinnest file in this batch — there is effectively no owner record yet. Pools kept separate: brand site: 1 review (Shop All listing); the one review text surfaced is a verified customer praising the wipe routine (“soooo easy to clean! I just wipe with a damp cloth in between washes”). Target lists it at $69.00 with no rating shown. No BabyGearLab test exists for this model (their portable-chair field tops out at the Inglesina Fast, 75 overall, #1 of 7) and no Mommyhood101 hands-on (their current hook-on pick is the Chicco FastLock Go, 4.8/5). The complaints to expect are the category’s, not this chair’s owners’: Lucie’s List puts roughly 20% of destination tables incompatible (too thick, or a lip under the edge), and hook-on fabrics are the cleaning sore spot across every tested rival.

Price & FSA/HSA

$69.00 at Colugo and at Target. That is $10–$20 under the Inglesina Fast Table Chair ($79.99 at Target; $80 list in BabyGearLab’s test), the proven anchor with a machine-washable lining and a deep owner file, whose trade-offs are slow twist clamps and a 0.8″ table floor. At the bottom sits the Chicco Caddy at about $49–$54.99 (Target $54.99, 4.4/5 across 14) — which BabyGearLab flatly does not recommend (7.2 lb, cleaning 3/10). So $69 is an honest middle, and the brand was showing a 20%-off mealtime promotion at check time (about $55) that strengthens the case. No tray is included or offered. The launch release claims Amazon availability at $69, but no Amazon ASIN could be verified in independent records, so this card links to Colugo through our CJ affiliate link. FSA/HSA: not eligible.

The hook-on chair that slides instead of screws: at $69.00, $10–$20 under the Inglesina Fast, its Slide-to-Fit clamp and unusually low 0.4″ table floor are real upgrades — if your tables are flat, sturdy and 0.4–3.5″ thick, your baby already sits up unaided, and you accept a one-review file, wipe-only fabric and no compliance statement on the brand page for a federally regulated category.
